Intro

Hi everyone!

For a while now, I've wanted to write a blog about my experiences as a vegetarian (and a partial kinda sorta vegan). However, as a natural procrastinator, it has taken me months (read: "years") to actually write this first post.

But, as they say, there is no time like the present. I hope you enjoy my personal explorations into the vegan/vegetarian/attemptedly-healthy lifestyle. I'd love for all of you to join me through the good, the bad, and the not at all appetizing...

Well, happy June everyone, and here goes!

Hooray!! I've only become a vegetarian this year, (and though I cheated a few times, I'm doing really well) and I'm glad to see someone posting nice veg-friendly recipes!

Check out "Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease: The Revolutionary, Scientifically Proven, Nutrition-Based Cure" by Caldwell Esselstyn. The book is neat, but the real gem is the book index in the back, and all the recipes! They are low-fat and vegan!

Good luck, and have fun!

Thanks Melanie! I will totally check out that book. I am always looking for new recipes, though I must admit I have not been great about cooking lately. I'd call what I do "foraging" or "scrounging" more than cooking, haha.

Certainly don't beat yourself up about the "cheating." I've been a vegetarian for 13 years or more now (math=not strong suit) and I'd say I craved meat for the first 3 of those. It still smelled reeeeally good to me if someone else was eating it. You're fighting the good fight though, for your health and for chickens and cows everywhere! Thank you so much for reading!!! And please feel free to share or link to recipes here if you like!
